Let's meet Charles:

Charles Ekstrom Cycling Coach

Charles has been cycling since 1988 when this started out as a means of transport in Cape Town, but quickly progressed to a love for the sport.

Having been a school teacher and sports coach for a number of years, he grew to love the interaction and guidance he could provide to the students, but a passion for database queries and web design developed into a full-time position as a software developer working from home. During this time Charles continued to train and race his road bike, competing in the local racing leagues in Cape Town, culminating in participating at the UCI Masters Road World Championships in St Johan in Tirol, Austria in 2008.

Having moved to Port Elizabeth in 2015 he was unfortunately involved in some minor vehicle-related accidents that led him to look at alternatives to riding outdoors and he quickly found and joined the online cycling application Zwift  in 2017. He has thrived in this safe environment for cycling training and racing with over 320 events under his belt to date.
