I am an under23 professional cyclist, riding for the UCI registered ProTouch Continental Team.
I feel my strength is climbing and time trialing. I have been part of the number 1 ranked team in Africa since last year August when I became a Stagiaire for Team ProTouch. We thrive to remain the number 1 cycling nation in Africa for two consecutive years at the end of 2020.
Here is my Story – I was born in Berkshire in the United Kingdom in 2000.
I moved to South Africa in 2006. I was introduced to cycling by my dad and I took part in various MTB events. I took part in my first road race in 2015 and realized my passion for the sport. I was very privileged to experience racing in Belgium in my two junior years and again as a first year u23, before joining ProTouch Continental Team as a Stagiaire rider from August 2019. I truly believe the criterium style of racing (although not my preference) opened my eyes tactically and the knowledge I gained was immense. I’m really keen to continue with the 2020 season after a promising start and one UCI 2.1 Tour de Taiwan under my belt. I look forward to working hard for the team and grab any opportunity that may arise.
I’ve been under the guidance of Alasdair Garnett for the past two and a half years and from the outset I immediately saw the value of having a coach that pays attention to my needs. I firmly believe that Alasdair has me on the correct path to fulfill my cycling dreams. A pro cyclist dream will always be to one day get spotted by a Pro/ World Team, hopefully with hard work, dedication and a little luck will fulfill my dreams.
